Description

The Mini Plaster Choker reinterprets a familiar symbol through a refined, sculptural lens.

A miniature plaster motif sits at the centre of a fine chain, translating an everyday object into a piece of contemporary jewellery. The form is instantly recognisable yet elevated — its perforated surface and soft contours rendered in polished metal.

Worn close to the neck, the choker creates a clean, intimate silhouette. Its scale is subtle, but the symbolism carries weight, balancing fragility with strength.

Finished in rhodium or gold vermeil, the surface reflects light with precision, enhancing the clarity of the form while maintaining a restrained, modern presence.

Handcrafted in Portugal.

Design Philosophy

This piece explores protection as both object and idea.

By transforming a plaster — a universal signifier of healing — into fine jewellery, the design reframes vulnerability as something visible, deliberate, and strong. The result is a quiet statement about resilience, identity, and self-expression.

Care

Plated jewellery has a thin layer of precious metal over another solid metal, which can rub off with constant contact with your skin. Continual exposure to sweat, water, perfumes, and chemicals found in toiletries can tarnish plated jewellery. To extend the life of your plated pieces, follow these simple care instructions:

  • Always take your plated jewellery off before sleeping to avoid friction against your skin.
  • Keep your jewellery dry. If it gets wet, wipe it immediately with a paper towel.
  • Avoid contact with chemicals like chlorine, nail polish remover, soaps, or perfumes, as these can damage the metal coating.
  • Remove your jewellery before intense physical activity to prevent exposure to sweat.
  • Store each piece in a separate plastic bag to reduce tarnishing and prevent the thin plated layer from rubbing or scratching.

Frequently asked questions

 1. What metals does Alan Crocetti use?

All pieces are crafted in 925 sterling silver. Some are finished with gold plating for warmth or rhodium plating for extra brightness and protection.

2. Are pearls real?

YES. Alan Crocetti uses cultured pearls in natural white, pink, black, and lavender. Each pearl is unique and adds softness to the sculptural design. The brand also uses Mother of Pearl, valued for its iridescent glow and refined exclusivity.

3. Are lab-grown gemstones used?

YES. Alan Crocetti uses lab-created emeralds, rubies, moissanite, and diamonds. They have the same brilliance and chemistry as natural gems in their purest form, and are produced sustainably and ethically — affirming their place within fine jewellery.

4 What are semi-precious stones?

Semi-precious stones are natural gems used for their beauty and symbolic value. In Alan Crocetti collections, these include:

• Amethyst (purple): creativity, protection

• Citrine (yellow): joy, abundance

• Topaz (blue/yellow): clarity, strength

• Onyx (black): grounding, power

• Peridot (green): renewal, growth

• Garnet (red): passion, vitality

5. What is zirconia, and what quality is used?

Zirconia (cubic zirconia, CZ) is a lab-created diamond alternative. Alan Crocetti uses only 5A grade zirconia, the highest quality: flawless clarity, precision cut, and diamond like brilliance.

• Colours used: clear, black, blue, green, red, pink, purple, yellow.

6. Can clients adjust or bend the jewellery to fit?

Although sterling silver is a malleable metal, we do not recommend pressing, bending, or pulling pieces to adjust them. This can weaken soldering points, loosen stones, or distort the design.

Key Note: Each piece is handcrafted as a sculpture. If resizing or adjustments are needed, recommend professional service instead of forcing the piece.
